I'm 25 years old and I've always voted republican except for the last election which I stayed out of. I'm a fierce "small-government" conservative and I consider Barry Goldwater as my political idol. Goldwater's run spawned the Young Americans For Freedom which was ultimately responsible for reviving the republican party. My question to you is, why have Republicans strayed from its small government roots vis-a-vis bailouts and reckless government spending?
